Sainsbury’s parking – 9 February 2014
We are pleased to report one of the most important planning victories since … er … well since we saved the trees at 10 Crab Hill. Recently, Sainsbury’s sought permission to relocate the motorbike parking space in their car park to make room for a ‘standalone’ kiosk which will provide key cutting and shoe repair services. We argued that the motorbike parking space was also the best place to park bicycles, and permission should not be given for the kiosk until proper bicycle parking facilities were provided. We were very pleased that a committee of councillors agreed with our arguments and we look forward to new facilities shortly. As ever, our Planning Officer acted solely for the benefit of our community and any similarity in the picture to his bicycle is entirely coincidental.
