Our privacy policy - August 2019

At RVR, we are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of all our members, visitors to this website and those we have dealings with. In particular, we want you to know that RVR will never provide your personal information to companies or businesses who want to sell you stuff. This privacy policy provides detailed information on when and why we collect your personal information, how we use it and how we keep it secure.

Your data

We collect the personal data of our members including name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, contact information for other people living at your address, attendance records at our meetings, functions and activities, and payments you have made (or not) to us in order for us to run an effective and efficient membership society for you.

We also collect similar data for individuals with whom RVR works in order to further the aims of RVR. For example, we hold contact details for Bromley Council officers.

All our officers, both elected and appointed, may have access to this information.

Mailing lists

Here’s how we let visitors to our website know about our e-mail and postal mailing lists:

As part of the registration process for new (and existing) members, we collect personal information. We use that information for several reasons:

  • to tell you about stuff you’ve asked us to tell you about;
  • to contact you if we need to obtain or provide additional information;
  • to check our records are right;
  • to send you our newsletter; and
  • to provide information that may be of interest to you, such as local events or planning applications.

We don't rent or trade e-mail or postal address lists with other organisations and businesses.

In the future we may use a third-party provider, e.g. MailChimp, to deliver our newsletter. We would gather statistics around e-mail opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. More information will be provided if we use a third party.

You can unsubscribe to our mailings by e-mailing us at Chair.rvr@outlook.com

Access to your personal information

Under GDPR, you have the right to access and amend or delete any of your personal data that we hold. Deleting certain information may mean that we cannot continue to provide you with membership.

E-mail your request to Chair.rvr@outlook.com
