Permission granted to the buildings outlined in red for a period of 5 years (to 10 Sept 2030) after which they must be removed.

Lewisham Council also notes that the building outlined in green really should have gone by now.

“The applicant is advised that the temporary building approved under application DC/21/121283 has exceeded the time limit as laid out by Condition 1 which reads:

The temporary structure hereby permitted shall be removed and the land restored on or before 27 May 2025 in accordance with a scheme of work to be submitted to and approved in writing by the local planning authority.

Officers recommend that the applicant should seek to resolve this matter as soon as possible.”

Millwall recently installed a 2 storey pre-fabricated building (red-outline below) at its training ground in Calmont Road without authorisation from Lewisham.  However, a retrospective planning application has now been submitted, reference DC/25/140833 which indicates that the proposal is for temporary permission pending a permanent structure being built in 2-4 years’ time.

A concern is that application DC/21/121283 gave temporary permission to another similar-looking building (green-outline below) on site which should have been removed in May 2025 but it is still there.  This is what Lewisham said in 2021: -

The temporary structure hereby permitted shall be removed and the land restored on or before 27 May 2025 […].

Reason: The type of building is not such as the local planning authority is prepared to approve, other than for a limited period, in view of its appearance in the interest of the visual amenity of the area […]

Thus, Millwall have built without permission a building in a style they know Lewisham does not like and have not removed an existing building by the stated date.
