The appeal has been dismissed. The main reason was that the proposed property would have been an inappropriate and incongruous addition to the Shortlands Village Conservation Area. It would have been rammed in the gap shown in the photo.
Application refused! Very little chance at Appeal if it goes that far.

New application sees another attempt to build in the gap. We will publish our objection soon.
The appeal for permission to build a house in the small gap on Beckenham Lane has been dismissed. The inspector's report can be found here.
Interestingly the Inspector highlighted that the proposal would harm the setting of the Locally Listed Valley School (although not much).
